Statement
As a “Mizrahi” (Arab-Jewish) woman living in Israel, I belong to an ethnic group that is looked down upon by other groups like the “Ashkenazi” (European-Jewish). Also, among the “Mizrahi” group, Yemenis are even more discriminated against, because they are considered “submissive and foolish”.
Suddenly in 1984, the Ethiopians, our “black brothers”. came to join us in Israel.
Thanks to them, the Yemenis condition in Israel has changed.
Today in Israel, my family hired Ethiopians to work for our family business.
This means that my grandmother doesn't have to clean other “Ashkenazi” houses. Instead she has a nice Ethiopian woman who cleans her house.
This movie deals with those problems by creating a world of only “black people” starting to mix with vegetables, and telling the story of the first mixed woman in the world: “Sima, daughter of ketchup.”
In the movie I played Sima's character.
I also hired and directed Ethiopians to play the whores and the sexual molesters in my movie.
